Oral Storytelling

June 24, 2015

My friend, Teresa, and I made it a mission to do one thing a month that we normally wouldn't do, or go to a place we have never been. We call it our Happiness Project. Some of the things we've done are: attend an in-home concert, visit galleries in Longmont, go to a comedy show at Hodi's, take in an Italian opera at the Lincoln Center, and learn how to cook Indian food. This last Happiness Project was attending an outdoor play put on by Open Stage.

The stage was set up in a small park near the Columbine Health Systems building, a park I didn't know existed, so that was my first discovery. We got an up-front viewing area near the sound-makers, and the play was utterly delightful! Romance, mistaken identities, physical comedy, and costumes, fabulous costumes! Admittedly that was my favorite part. Kudos Costume Designer Kari Armstrong!

The play goes until June 27th. Go if you can! You'll get a good belly laugh and see a beautiful production.
